Getting Our Spring Coats

Momma loves us, because we're long-haired kitties. See, as a child, Momma was never a doll person. She had only one doll that was her favorite. The rest of her toys were teddy bears. Momma had so many teddy bears that she took to bed each night, that there was hardly any room for her in the bed!

Well, with spring here and summer on its way, us kitty goils now have our summer coats. Naturally, our coats aren't as thick and plush as our winter coats, but Momma still loves walking by us and swiping a pet. She's very tactile and we love getting pets from her. Besides, our slightly thinner summer coats are more comfortable for us. Isn't it amazing how Nature takes care of that?

A lot of people prefer short-haired kitties, thinking they shed less. Surprisingly, we don't shed excessively. And, there's nothing that brings Momma more joy than finding a tuft of our fur on the carpet from Katie and me rough housing.

I have to say that Katie looks like an adorable butterball. She's so fluffy, both in winter and summer. From the ruff around her neck to the tip of her tail, she's a little fluff ball. Momma calls Katie her Cuddly, Fluffy Cutie Petutie. Katie has the cutest pantaloons on her hind quarters and gray velvety paws. My coat is sleeker, but I also have cute pantaloons. There's not a speck of white on me, right down to my black satin nose. In the dark, all you see are my eyes. The rest of my face disappears.
